Multimedia Tools and Applications – MTAP

Special Issue on Interacting with Multimedia

http://www.icmc.usp.br/~mgp/mtap-si-iwmm.html

Multimedia content is complex to interact with for several reasons,
in particular because media components such as images, audio and
video offer distinct interaction affordances. When interacting with
photos or music assets, for instance, users may have to deal with
huge collections or with many separate collections. As another
example, when audio and video are combined in settings such as
TV environments, users may want to take advantage of the multimodal
interaction offered by smartphones. New problems emerge when the
interaction involves 3D environments, given that navigation in
virtual environments may be a problem for many users.

Authors are invited to submit papers which will be evaluated in
terms of originality with respect to the state of the art, technical
content and accuracy, significance of the work, and presentation
(organization, style and clarity). Moreoever, the appropriateness
for the Multimedia Tools and Applications Journal will be evaluated
by analysing how authors compare their work with contributions
published in earlier MTAP issues.

This special issue invites high quality contributions associated
with theoretical and practical aspects of Interacting with Multimedia.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

* interacting with video
* interacting with audio
* interacting with photos
* interacting with social media
* interacting with mobile devices
* interacting with smartphones
* interacting with 3D environments
* interacting with sensors and other devices
* interaction workflow and cooperation
* personalized interaction with multimedia
* adaptive interaction with multimedia
