2016/2017 IEEE Intl. Conf. on Multimedia and Expo (ICME)
Sponsored By
The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society
The IEEE Communications Society
The IEEE Computer Society
The IEEE Signal Processing Society
This Call for Proposal is distributed on behalf of the
Steering Committee for the 2016 and 2017 IEEE International
Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME) to be held in summer
of both years. IEEE International Conference on Multimedia &
Expo (ICME) has been the flagship multimedia conference
sponsored by four IEEE societies since 2000. It serves as a
forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in multimedia
technologies, systems, and applications from both the research
and development perspectives of the circuits and systems,
communications, computer, and signal processing communities.
An Exposition of multimedia products, animations and industries
will be held in conjunction with the conference. ICME 2016 will
be the seventeenth meeting in this series and ICME 2017 will
be the eighteenth in the series.
The conference organizing team is advised to incorporate into
their proposal the following items.
*Proposed Dates (approximately mid-year of 2016 or 2017, preferable July)
*Organizing Committee Members
  Names for all key positions
  Biographical information for General Chair(s),
Technical Program Chairs, Treasurer/Finance Chair, Workshop
  Chairs, and Special Session Chairs
*Technical Committee Members
  Names for Track Chairs
Membership in the Signal Processing Society: Multimedia Signal
Processing Technical Committee, Circuits and Systems Society:
Multimedia Systems and Applications Technical Committee,
  Communications Society: Multimedia Communications Technical
Committee, and/or Computer Society: Technical Committee on Multimedia Computing
*Proposed budget. (For advice on building an IEEE budget
please contact Lisa Schwarzbek at l.schwarzbek@ieee.org.)
*Support that can be anticipated from the local government,
universities and or corporations
*Why select this particular location?
  Airport and transportation information
  Customs and Visa regulations
Hotel and convention center information (i.e. space diagrams, maps, etc.)
Tourist destinations (i.e. museums, natural wonders, etc.)
Average weather conditions for the time of year
Submission of Proposal
Before submitting a proposal please read the ICME Charter and
Guidelines on the ICME website (http://www.ieee-icme.org).
Also, please notify the Steering Committee of your intent
to propose via an e-mail to Steering Committee Chair Prof.
Chang Wen CHEN at chencw@buffalo.edu by April 15, 2013
Proposals for ICME are currently being accepted for the 2016
and 2017 ICME. Proposals should be sent no later than June 1, 2013.
Send the proposal to Lisa Schwarzbek, Conference Services Manager,
IEEE Signal Processing Society (l.schwarzbek@ieee.org).

——————————————————
The field of Semantic Computing addresses the derivation of
semantic information from content and the connection of
semantics to knowledge, where “content” may be anything
including structured data, video, audio, text, hardware,
software, process, etc.
The Seventh IEEE International Conference on Semantic
Computing (ICSC 2013) continues to foster the growth of a
new research community. The conference builds on the success
of the past ICSC conferences as an international forum for
researchers and practitioners to present research that
advances the state of the art and practice of Semantic
Computing, as well as identifying emerging research topics
and defining the future of the field. The event is located
in Irvine, California at Irvine Hyatt. The technical program
of ICSC 2013 includes workshops, invited keynotes, paper
presentations, panel discussions, industrial ‘show and tells’,
demonstrations, and more. Submissions of high-quality papers
describing mature results or ongoing work are invited.
The main goal of the conference is to foster the dialog between
experts in each sub-discipline. Therefore we especially encourage
submissions of work that is interesting to multiple areas, such
as multimodal approaches.
Please refer to the conference website for further information:
