We have some exciting opportunities for volunteers.
Call for Blog Writers
IEEE Cloud Computing is a key platform for researchers, academicians, and industry practitioners to share and exchange ideas regarding cloud computing technologies and services, as well as identify the emerging trends and research topics that are defining the future direction of cloud computing.
Come be part of this revolution as we invite posts for The Clear Cloud blog. Topics include but are not limited to the following: cloud deployment frameworks, cloud architecture, cloud native design patterns, testing services and frameworks, storage architectures, big data and analytics, Internet of Things, virtualization techniques, legacy modernization, security and compliance, iPaaS, pricing methodologies, service-oriented architectures, microservices, container technology, cloud computing’s impact and its trends shaping today’s business, and high availability and reliability.
A few guidelines for blog submission: a post should be between 500-2,000 words of original material and any figures must be your own or have permission granted from the image owner for use. Email Chris Miyachi with your blog post or for more information.
Our volunteers are creating new projects across our community. We have new podcasts coming from a collaboration with IEEE Cloud Computing magazine where we interview authors about the industry. We are planning a miniconference in January 2017 with the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE) on the subject of cloud and consumer electronics. We have a weekly study group and we will soon be doing projects and hope to create a MOOC based on our content.
So how can you get involved? We would love to have more blog writers so click here for more information. Contribute to our social media sites and get to know our community on Twitter and LinkedIn. Or come up with your own idea. Email our membership director Akhyar Sadad (email@example.com) and myself (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your energy and ideas.
We currently have a study group that meets weekly at 9 AM EST. We listen to one of the 34 modules that the IEEE has produced in cloud computing. They are very informative, and we do a quiz at the end. In later modules we will be doing projects. If you are interested, please email email@example.com. and list “Study Group” in the subject of your email. We are looking for people to blog and lead discussions either on our call or via social media so indicate that interest as well.
