Call-for-nominations for IEEE TCDP Awards 

IEEE TCDP is happy to announce the 2023 callfornominationfor Outstanding Technical Achievement and Outstanding Service Awards. The goal of these highly prestigious awards is to encourage innovative long-term contributions to the field of distributed processing.  

A. 2023 IEEE TCDP Outstanding Technical Achievement Award 

This award recognizes scholars whose technical accomplishments contributed significantly to the progress of the distributed processing field in one of the following ways.

  • Impact resulting in significant advance of the distributed processing field. 
  • Impact beyond research to industrial practice.
  • Impact beyond the distributed processing field. 

Eligibility

The candidate(s) can be anyone except the current officers of IEEE TCDP and members of the IEEE TCDP Awards Committee. 

Nomination Process 

  • Anyone in the field can put forward a nomination (self-nominations are excluded). Nominations should include a proposed citation (up to 25 words) and a detailed statement to justify the nomination (500 words or less). The nomination should explicitly indicate the specific nature of the impact (expanding distributed processing through interdisciplinary work, through impact on practice, or by expanding the distributed processing field itself). Three supporting letters should be submitted. The letters need to address the significance of the contributions cited in the nominationNominations must be received by March 18, 2023 to be considered for this year’s award. Please include a detailed CV for the nominee. Nominations that did not result in an award can be resubmitted or updated in subsequent years. The Awards Committee will evaluate all nominations and decide on zero or more winners. 

B. 2023 IEEE TDCP Outstanding Service Award 

This award recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly to ICDCS, TCDP, and the distributed processing community in general. 

Eligibility

  • The candidate can be anyone except the current officers of IEEE TCDP and members of the IEEE TCDP Awards Committee.

  • Anyone in the field can put forward a nomination (self-nominations are excluded). Nominations should include a proposed citation (up to 25 words) and a detailed statement to justify the nomination (500 words or less). The letters need to address the significance of the service contributions cited in the nominationNominations must be received by March 18, 2023 to be considered for this year’s award. Please include a detailed CV for the nominee. Nominations that did not result in an award can be resubmitted or updated in subsequent years. The Awards Committee will evaluate all nominations and decide on zero or more winners.
