## ICALT 2021

Conference Registration

**Important Notes**:

- All accepted papers need to cover with an author registration.
- ICALT 2021 allows an author registration to add ONE 2nd paper fee to cover up to two accepted papers.
- For conference committee members (e.g., conference founder, general chairs, general program chairs, advisory committee members, etc.) who have papers accepted, they still need to do author registration to cover their accepted papers unless the accepted paper already has co-author done the author registration for it.
- For all accepted papers in the main tracks (except DC tracks), author (no matter he or she is a student or not) has only two options for author registration: IEEE member and Non IEEE member.
- For accepted paper in DC (Doctoral Consortium) track, the first author must be a student and he or she can use either of two options: IEEE student member and Student non member

**Author Registration** (needs to be done by **May 14, 2021**)

- for the accepted papers in the 13 main tracks, doesn’t include DC track
- IEEE Member: 225 USD
- 2nd Paper fee (an author registration can only cover ONE 2nd paper): 135 USD

- Non IEEE Member: 270 USD
- 2nd Paper fee (an author registration can only cover ONE 2nd paper): 165 USD

- IEEE Member: 225 USD
- for the accepted papers in DC track (DC paper’s first author needs to be a doctoral student)
- IEEE Student Member: 135 USD
- no 2nd paper fee option

- Student (Non Member): 165 USD
- no 2nd paper fee option

- IEEE Student Member: 135 USD

**Non-Author Registration**

- early bird,
**BEFORE****June 20, 2021**- IEEE Member: 25 USD
- Non IEEE Member: 30 USD
- IEEE Student Member: 10 USD
- Student (Non Member): 15 USD
- Life Member 15 USD

**AFTER June 20, 2021**- IEEE Member: 40 USD
- Non IEEE Member: 50 USD
- IEEE Student Member: 15 USD
- Student (Non Member): 20 USD
- Life Member: 25 USD

**NOTE: By May 14, 2021**, any accepted paper without an author registration to cover will be removed from the conference as well as from conference proceedings.

**NOTE: **Join IEEE now (from March to the mid of August), the membership fee is even cheaper and students from some countries will even see 50% of regular fee. You may check it out at https://www.ieee.org/membership/join/dues.html.

**Scenario #1**

- Given three authors and one accepted paper as an example
- Authors:
- Author X is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
- Author Y is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
- Author Z is not a student (either IEEE member or a non-member)

- Accepted papers:
- Paper A is accepted by one of the main 13 tracks and co-authored by Y, X, and Z

- Potential Author Registration cases:
- Case 1
- Although Author X and Y are students, for any paper accepted by the main tracks, it needs to have a regular author registration done by any of the co-authors.
- So either Author X or Y can can do author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper A.

- Case 2
- Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper A.

- Case 1

**Scenario #2**

- Given two authors and one accepted DC paper as an example
- Authors:
- Author X is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
- Author Z is not a student (either IEEE member or a non-member)

- Accepted papers:
- Paper C is accepted by DC (Doctoral Consortium) track and co-authored by X and Z.

- Potential Author Registration cases:
- Case 1
- Since Author X is a student and Paper C is an accepted DC paper — which means Author X must be the first author of Paper C.
- Due to accepted DC paper’s first author is eligible to use IEEE Student Member option or Student (Non Member) option for the author registration.
- Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option 135 USD or Student Non Member option 165 USD) for Paper C.

- Case 2
- Although Paper C is an accepted DC paper, Author Z is not a student.
- Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper C.

- Case 1

**Scenario #3**

- Given three authors and two accepted papers as an example

- Paper B is accepted by one of the main 13 tracks and co-authored by Z and Y

- Potential Author Registration cases:
- Since both of the accepted papers belong to the main tracks, any authors can only do author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD).
- Case 1.
- Any one of the co-authors, i.e., Author X, Y, or Z, can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) plus 2nd paper fee (135 USD for IEEE member or 165 USD for non IEEE member) to cover both of Paper A and B.
- However, due to there is only one author registrations, the registration will only allow the registered author to enter ICALT 2021 conference web system later since there is only one registration so only ONE account will be given.

- Case 2.
- Any TWO of the co-authors, can do a separate one author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover either Paper A and B.
- For instance, Author Y can do author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper A.
- And Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper B.
- In this case, there will be two accounts given to the registered authors for entering ICALT 2021 conference web system later.

**Scenario #4**

- Given three authors and two accepted papers (in which one is a DC paper) as an example

- Paper C is accepted by DC (Doctoral Consortium) track and co-authored by X and Z.

- Potential Author Registration cases:
- Although Author X and Y are students, for any paper accepted by the main tracks, it needs to have a regular author registration done by any of the co-authors.
- Since Author X is a student and Paper C is an accepted DC paper — which means Author X must be the first author of Paper C.
- Due to accepted DC paper’s first author is eligible to use IEEE Student Member option or Student (Non Member) option for the author registration.
- There is no 2nd paper option for an author registration for an accepted DC paper.
- Case 1
- Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option 135 USD or Student Non Member option 165 USD) for Paper C.
- And any one of the co-authors (including Author X), can do one more author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper A.
- In this case, there will be two accounts given to the registered authors for entering ICALT 2021 conference web system later.

- Case 2
- Author X can do an Author Registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) plus 2nd paper fee (135 USD for IEEE member or 165 USD for non IEEE member) to cover both of Paper A and C.
- Due to there is only one author registrations, the registration will only allow the registered author to enter ICALT 2021 conference web system later since there is only one registration so only ONE account will be given.

- Case 3
- Author Z can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) plus 2nd paper fee (135 USD for IEEE member or 165 USD for non IEEE member) to cover both of Paper A and C.
- Due to there is only one author registrations, the registration will only allow the registered author to enter ICALT 2021 conference web system later since there is only one registration so only ONE account will be given.

- Case 4
- Author Y can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover both of Paper A.
- Author Z can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover both of Paper C.
- In this case, there will be two accounts given to the registered authors for entering ICALT 2021 conference web system later.

**Scenario #5**

- Given three authors and three accepted papers as an example

- Paper B is accepted by one of the main 13 tracks and co-authored by Z and Y
- Paper C is accepted by DC (Doctoral Consortium) track and co-authored by X and Z.

- Potential Author Registration cases:
- Case 1.
- Author Z is a co-author of all three papers. However, an author registration plus 2nd paper fee can only cover two papers.
- So Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member or Non IEEE Member option) twice
- one author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) plus 2nd paper fee (135 USD for IEEE member or 165 USD for non IEEE member) to cover Paper A and B; and
- second author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) to cover Paper C.

- Two author registrations will grant Author Z two accounts to enter ICALT 2021 conference web system later.

- Case 2.
- Since Author X is a student and Paper C is an accepted DC paper — which means Author X must be the first author of Paper C.
- Due to accepted DC paper’s first author is eligible to use IEEE Student Member option or Student (Non Member) option for the author registration, Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option 135 USD or Student Non Member option 165 USD) for Paper C.
- Due to student fee options are not eligible for papers accepted by the main 13 track, Author X or Y can do an author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) plus 2nd paper fee (135 USD for IEEE member or 165 USD for non IEEE member) to cover Paper A and B.
- Two author registrations will grant them two accounts to enter ICALT 2021 conference web system later.

- Case 3.
- Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option 135 USD or Student Non Member option 165 USD) for Paper C;
- Due to student fee options are not eligible for papers accepted by the main 13 track, Author Y (even he/she is a student) will still need do an author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) for Paper A; and,
- Author Z can do an author registration (with IEEE Member option 225 USD or Non IEEE Member option 270 USD) for Paper B.
- In total, three author registrations will grant Authors X, Y, Z, three accounts to access ICALT web conference system.

- Case 1.
