Dear TCMC members,
This is to inform you that we will have a TCMC meeting at ICME2016
(IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo) in Seattle on
July 13 (Wednesday) at noon. The information of the meeting place will
be announced in the ICME2016 web site later. You are invited to attend
the meeting or bring people you think who may be interested in attending
this meeting. Recently, we had successful TCMC meetings at several
conferences such as ISM and ICSC.

IEEE 2016 Intl. Conference on Information Reuse and Integration
IEEE IRI 2016
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
July 28-30, 2016
http://www.sis.pitt.edu/iri2016/call_papers.html
The development of software and its’ supporting hardware, at the global level,
is becoming a race for speed, memory, and most-importantly, cost-effectiveness.
Simply put, software plays an ever-increasing role in the world economy. This
is currently about 20 percent of the U.S. GDP. It includes everything from
providing creative decision support in cancer research to simulating nuclear
fusion reactor designs to mining big data for scientific research and business –
all of which generalize to creating knowledge, which did not previously exist.
All this and more are enabled by reuse and integration.
Information Reuse and Integration (IRI) encompasses all approaches for effectively
removing redundancy in the representation and exercise of data and knowledge for
incorporation into systems and applications. Data integration provides knowledge,
which is more compact and is thus of greater utility than the original data.
Furthermore, IRI addresses the representation, cleansing, generalization,
validation, and reasoning strategies for the scientifically-sound and
cost-effective advancement of all systems – including software, hardware,
and systems of systems (SoS).
This conference explores three major tracks: information reuse, information
integration, and reusable systems (SoS). Information reuse explores theory and
practice of information representation and randomization; information integration
focuses on innovative strategies and algorithms for fusing sources of data and
knowledge; and, reusable systems focuses on developing and integrating collections
of systems, which provide novel cost-effective capabilities.
The IEEE IRI conference serves as a forum for researchers and practitioners
from academia, industry, and government to present, discuss, and exchange ideas
that address real-world problems with real-world solutions. Theoretical and
applied papers are both welcome. The conference program will include several
plenary speeches from academia, industry, and government; special sessions,
open forum workshops, panels, and tutorials (at no extra charge).

Reuse and integration in VLSI/ SoC, and Computing architectures
Large Scale System Integration

The Fifth IEEE International Workshop on Data Integration and Mining (DIM-2016)
in conjunction with
THE 17th IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION REUSE AND INTEGRATION (IRI-2016)
July 28-30, 2016 | Pittsburgh, USA
http://rvc.eng.miami.edu/iri_dim16/
The focus of this workshop is associated with data integration and mining
requirements and services due to the large-scale generation of social, sensor,
mobile, networking, and other types of data stored in various data repositories,
such as databases, data warehouses, and Web. However, how to integrate those data
resources with different structures or ontologies to enable effective learning and
discovery of useful knowledge is still one of the most significant challenges.
Moreover, the recent progress on new devices and platforms makes it possible to
build new data integration and mining tools/applications for new available data
formats and multi-model interaction systems that enable automatic data representation,
analysis, and delivery. This also attracts increasing attentions from some specific
domains, such as bioinformatics, multimedia, finance, healthcare, marketing,
telecommunications and insurance.
The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for original high-quality research
contributions on data integration and mining techniques and applications, as well
as multidisciplinary research opportunities. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to, practical areas that span a variety of aspects of data integration and
mining including
Large-scale data integration, mining and visualization
Big data analytics and real-time analysis
Recommender systems
Metadata integration and management
Data security and privacy
Social media data analysis and computing
Web-scale data mining and semantic discovery
Network data integration and delivery
Data filtering and cleaning
Data integration environments and applications
Data models, schemas and ontologies
Database integration systems
Data management and analysis in specific application domains
Important Dates:
Regular paper submission: May 20th, 2016 (Midnight, PST)
Notification of acceptance: Same as the main conference
Camera-ready & author registration: Same as the main conference
