IEEE/Computer Society TCMF Distinguished Service Award:
Call for nominations
The IEEE Computer Society’s Technical Committee on Mathematical
Foundations is seeking nominations for its 2025 Distinguished Service Award.
The award will be given to a member of the Theory of Computation
community, very broadly construed, in recognition of outstanding, dedicated,
and indispensable service to the community. Contributions can take many
forms; in particular they can be one-time or over many years. Scientific
contribution will generally not count as service. The award will carry a
monetary value of $2000 USD and will be presented at the Business Meeting
of FOCS’25.
Eligibility: The members of the FOCS Steering Committee and the Service
Award Selection Committee are not eligible for receiving the award.
Nominations
Nominations can include multiple nominators and/or endorsers. Nominations
should include (i) a description of the contribution and its impact (at most 4000
characters), (ii) a proposed citation (at most 1000 characters), and (iii) as
much supporting information as deemed appropriate by the nominators. The
nomination, along with potential endorsements and supporting information
should be uploaded here (as a single compressed file) by November 15
2025, anywhere on earth.
The Award Selection Committee for 2025 consists of Rocco Servedio (chair)
Shang-Hua Teng and Ran Canetti.
