Congratulations! # Misc One of the important question in science is authorship, and how to attribute credit where credit is due. Today, I wanted to highlight this recent contribution to "how do we attribute credit in a software contribution": Attributing and Referencing (Research) Software: Best Practices and Outlook From Inria, by Alliez et al. (https://hal.inria.fr/hal-02135891) The authors develop a taxonomy of software contributions with a qualitative scale. They discuss the different cases when a qualitative evaluation of contributions to a software is needed (career management, technology transfer, visibility and reproducibility), and provide important recommendations! A must read! # Upcoming Important Dates: Please recall the dates of the upcoming TCPP conferences: * AICCSA, Nov 30-Dec 3, 2021, Tangier, Morrocco https://www.aiccsa.net/AICCSA2021/ * ICPADS, Dec 14-16, 2021, Beijing, China http://ieee-icpads.net/2021/ * HIPC, Dec 17-18, 2021, Bangalore, India (expected to be hybrid) https://hipc.org/ * PerCom, March 21-25, 2022, Pisa, Italy http://www.percom.org * IPDPS, May 30-June 3, 2022, Lyon, France https://www.ipdps.org Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have remarks or suggestions about TCPP, this newsletter, and feel free to encourage colleagues to become TCPP members for free: http://computer.org/jointcpp Guillaume Pallez TCPP web coordinator
