TCPP news from the chair Anne Benoit

I would like to thank Guillaume Pallez, who acted as Web/Newsletter coordinator for TCPP these last few years, and welcome Clément Foyer, from Univ. Reims Champagne-Ardennes, France, who is taking over. Thank you Clément!
Also, I am looking forward to an in-person conference at IPDPS this year. In particular, the traditional TCPP reception can be held again, after all these years of virtual conferences. The reception will be on Monday, May 15, in St Petersburg, Florida, at 6pm, and I look forward to seeing many of you at this event.

We congratulate the following people for their awards in the field of HPC,

[Early Career] Yue Cheng (University of Virginia), Hang Liu (Stevens Institute of Technology), and Elliott Slaughter (SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory) received the 2022 IEEE-CS TCHPC Early Career Researchers Award for Excellence in High Performance Computing.

[Charles Babbage Award] Keshav Pingali (University of Texas) received this award for his contributions to high-performance compilers and graph computing.

[Ken Kennedy Award] Ian T. Foster (Argonne National Lab.) received this award for contributions to programmability and productivity in computing via the establishment of new programming models and foundational science services.

[Seymour Cray Computer Engineering Award] Satoshi Matsuoka (Riken Center for Computational Science (R-CCS)) received this award for long-term global leadership in supercomputing system design, such as TSUBAME and Fugaku.

[Sidney Fernbach Memorial Award] Torsten Hoefler (ETH Zurich) received the 2023 Sidney Fernbach Memorial Award for application-aware design of HPC algorithms, systems and architectures, and transformative impact on scientific computing and industry.
