ICALT 2023
Conference Registration

Important Notes:

  • Please email registration+ICALT@computer.org if you need any registration and payment assistance.
  • For questions regarding author submissions, please contact the IEEE TCLT Office at ieeetclt@gmail.com.
  • For all accepted papers in the main tracks (except DC tracks), an author registration is required (no matter if he or she is a student or not)..
  • For accepted paper in DC (Doctoral Consortium) track, the first author must be a student and he or she can use either of two options: IEEE student member and Student non member.
  • ICALT 2023 allows an author registration to add ONE 2nd paper fee to cover up to two accepted papers.
  • For conference committee members (e.g., conference founder, general chairs, general program chairs, advisory committee members, etc.) who have papers accepted, they still need to do author registration to cover their accepted papers unless the accepted paper already has co-author done the author registration for it.
  • There are limited additional Welcome Reception (usually in the evening of Day 1) Ticket and Banquet  (usually in the evening of Day 3) Ticket for registrants to purchase for family members or friends so they can join the registered participant for the Welcome Reception and/or Banquet.
  • All the registration fees and additional tickets are not including the tax in United States. So the total payment will be Fee + ticket price (if applies) + tax.

Scenario #1

  • Given three authors and one accepted paper as an example
  • Authors:
    • Author X is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
    • Author Y is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
    • Author Z is not a student (either IEEE member or a non-member)
  • Accepted papers:
    • Paper A is accepted by one of the main tracks and co-authored by Y, X, and Z
  • Potential Author Registration cases:
    • Case 1
      1. Although Author X and Y are students, for any paper accepted by the main tracks, it needs to have a regular author registration done by any of the co-authors.
      2. So either Author X or Y can can do author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper A.
    • Case 2
      1. Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper A.

Scenario #2

  • Given two authors and one accepted DC paper as an example
  • Authors:
    • Author X is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
    • Author Z is not a student (either IEEE member or a non-member)
  • Accepted papers:
    • Paper C is accepted by DC (Doctoral Consortium) track and co-authored by X and Z.
  • Potential Author Registration cases:
    • Case 1
      1. Since Author X is a student and Paper C is an accepted DC paper — which means Author X must be the first author of Paper C.
      2. Due to accepted DC paper’s first author is eligible to use IEEE Student Member option or Student (Non Member) option for the author registration.
      3. Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option or Student Non Member option) for Paper C.
    • Case 2
      1. Although Paper C is an accepted DC paper, Author Z is not a student.
      2. Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper C.

Scenario #3

  • Given three authors and two accepted papers as an example
    • Paper B is accepted by one of the main tracks and co-authored by Z and Y
  • Potential Author Registration cases:
    • Since both of the accepted papers belong to the main tracks, any authors can only do author registration (with IEEE Member option Fee USD or Non IEEE Member option).
    • Case 1.
      1. Any one of the co-authors, i.e., Author X, Y, or Z, can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) plus 2nd paper fee (for IEEE member or for non IEEE member) to cover both of Paper A and B.
      2. However, due to there is only one author registrations, the registration will only allow the registered author to participate ICALT later since there is only one registration.
    • Case 2.
      1. Any TWO of the co-authors, can do a separate one author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover either Paper A and B.
      2. For instance, Author Y can do author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper A.
      3. And Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper B.
      4. In this case, two registered authors can participate ICALT later.

Scenario #4

  1. Given three authors and two accepted papers (in which one is a DC paper) as an example
  2. Authors:
    • Author X is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
    • Author Y is a student (either IEEE student member or a non-member)
    • Author Z is not a student (either IEEE member or a non-member)
  3. Accepted papers:
    • Paper A is accepted by one of the main tracks and co-authored by Y, X, and Z
    • Paper C is accepted by DC (Doctoral Consortium) track and co-authored by X and Z.
  4. Potential Author Registration cases:
    • Although Author X and Y are students, for any paper accepted by the main tracks, it needs to have a regular author registration done by any of the co-authors.
    • Since Author X is a student and Paper C is an accepted DC paper — which means Author X must be the first author of Paper C.
    • Due to accepted DC paper’s first author is eligible to use IEEE Student Member option or Student (Non Member) option for the author registration.
    • There is no 2nd paper option for an author registration for an accepted DC paper.
    • Case 1
      1. Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option or Student Non Member option) for Paper C.
      2. And any one of the co-authors (including Author X), can do one more author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper A.
      3. In this case, there will be two registered authors to participate ICALT later.
    • Case 2
      1. Author X can do an Author Registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) plus 2nd paper fee (for IEEE member or for non IEEE member) to cover both of Paper A and C.
      2. Due to there is only one author registrations, the registration will only allow one registered author to participate ICALT later since there is only one registration.
    • Case 3
      1. Author Z can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) plus 2nd paper fee (for IEEE member or for non IEEE member) to cover both of Paper A and C.
      2. Due to there is only one author registrations, the registration will only allow one registered author to participate ICALT later since there is only one registration.
    • Case 4
      1. Author Y can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover both of Paper A.
      2. Author Z can do one author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover both of Paper C.
      3. In this case, two registered authors can participate ICALT later.

Scenario #5

  • Given three authors and three accepted papers as an example
    • Paper B is accepted by one of the main tracks and co-authored by Z and Y
    • Paper C is accepted by DC (Doctoral Consortium) track and co-authored by X and Z.
  • Potential Author Registration cases:
    • Case 1.
      1. Author Z is a co-author of all three papers. However, an author registration plus 2nd paper fee can only cover two papers.
      2. So Author Z can do author registration (with IEEE Member or Non IEEE Member option) twice
        • one author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) plus 2nd paper fee (for IEEE member or for non IEEE member) to cover Paper A and B; and
        • second author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) to cover Paper C.
      3. Two registered authors can participate ICALT 2022 later.
    • Case 2.
      1. Since Author X is a student and Paper C is an accepted DC paper — which means Author X must be the first author of Paper C.
      2. Due to accepted DC paper’s first author is eligible to use IEEE Student Member option or Student (Non Member) option for the author registration, Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option or Student Non Member option) for Paper C.
      3. Due to student fee options are not eligible for papers accepted by any main tracks, Author X or Y can do an author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) plus 2nd paper fee (for IEEE member or for non IEEE member) to cover Paper A and B.
      4. Two registered authors can participate ICALT later.
    • Case 3.
      1. Author X can do an Author Registration (with either IEEE Student Member option or Student Non Member option) for Paper C;
      2. Due to student fee options are not eligible for papers accepted by any main tracks, Author Y (even he/she is a student) will still need do an author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) for Paper A; and,
      3. Author Z can do an author registration (with IEEE Member option or Non IEEE Member option) for Paper B.
      4. In total, three registered authors can participate ICALT later.
