Applying for IEEE TCLT Student Award to Attend ICALT 2024 In-Person or Online!

IEEE TCLT aims to achieving greater Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and embedding EDI into the culture of TCLT community; for instance, its Web of Science ESCI indexed, Open Access and no article processing charge Bulletin of TCLT (https://tc.computer.org/tclt/bulletin/) has Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) section and Report from Developing Countries section (see https://tc.computer.org/tclt/author-guidelines/)..

Therefore, in addition to the less cost registration fee options for in-person and online participants, TCLT also has student awards this year for reimbursing ICALT 2024 student author’s

  1. SINGLE AUTHOR registration fee for in-person participation ONLY (i.e., exclude the 2nd paper’s fee) with airfare or accommodation up to $1,200.00 USD to maximum TWO (2) awards may be given;
  2. SINGLE AUTHOR registration fee for online participation ONLY (i.e., exclude the 2nd paper’s fee) to maximum SIXTEEN (16) awards may be given; and
  3. SINGLE NON-AUTHOR registration fee for online participation to maximum EIGHT (8) awards may be given.

GUIDELINES

  1. Student authors of papers accepted in ICALT 2024 are eligible to apply. A registration receipt must be presented in the application.
  2. The applicant must join one of the following TCLT social media (please provide evidence).
  3. Preference will be given to student authors whose affiliations (NOT their nationality) belong to underrepresented group countries of ICALT 2024 (i.e., countries that have equal or less than six authors submitting their paper to ICALT 2024, including co-authorship:
    • Austria, Colombia, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Uzbekistan
  4. Preference will be given to first authors of full papers and DC (Doctoral Consortium) papers.
  5. Preference will be given to undergraduate students, doctoral, and master students.
  6. Preference will be given to IEEE student member who is also IEEE Computer Society member and IEEE TCLT member
  7. Preference will be given to IEEE TCLT member
  8. Preference will be given to participants who support a 3-minute introductory video regarding their research.
  9. Awarded students will be able to have reimbursement for their author registration fee for in-person or online participation — the award is after-event reimbursement so the student award winner author still needs to make their own registration and payment online by the author registration deadline.
  10. There are only limited student awards available.
  11. Students who have been awarded the grant MUST register and attend the conference — if the student doesn’t attend the conference and introduce themselves to TCLT chair, then they may no longer be eligible to receive the award.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Applicants are requested to fill the form at https://forms.gle/xAH45riyEx9nZVoA6 to apply for the award.
  • A proof of student affiliation to the academic institution (e.g., photo/scan of valid student card or a letter from advisor/guide) will have to be uploaded on Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive and have an accessible sharing link for filling the form.
  • A proof of registration (e.g., the registration receipt sent from the ICALT 2024 registration system) will have to be uploaded on Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive and have an accessible sharing link for filling the form.

NOTE: Incomplete application, application not officially submitted, and application has no proof of student affiliation to an academic institution will NOT be considered.

NOTIFICATION
Results will be notified to the selected applicants via the e-mail address provided during the application submission process by May 10, 2024
