Track description and topics of interest

Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and eXtended Reality (XR) seem to be powerful and promising tools in general, special education and training because of their technological affordances, learning affordances and their enacted learning activities. A systematic effort is needed to show that these systems can be used effectively in teaching and learning processes. To respond the increasing demands of using VR, AR, MR, and XR in education, the Track on Augmented Reality and Virtual Worlds in Education and Training (ARVWET) invites researchers and educators to submit original research work in the following topics:

  • VR, AR, MR, and XR pedagogy and learning experience design.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR infrastructures for education and training.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR learning experience delivery and production.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR for collaborative learning.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR in informal and workplace learning.
  • VR, AR, MR, XR and educational games.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR for language learning.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR for STEM.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR for other disciplines.
  • Learning and Performance Analytics in VR, AR, MR, and XR.
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • Personalisation in VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • Openness in VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • Trust, Security, Safety, and Privacy in VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • Ethically designed VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • Accessibility for VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • Socio-cultural perspectives of education in VR, AR, MR, and XR environments.
  • VR, AR, MR, and XR Standards.
