maigaIEEE ICALT conference is ranked as the second (2nd) by saliency in Educational Technology area, just follows CSCL (1st) in Microsoft Academic for the time 2000 to 2020 as below screenshot shows.

LAK (1st), IEEE WMTE (2nd), IEEE SMC (3rd), AIED (4th), and CSCL (5th) are on the other hand the top 5 on their saliency per family.
It is worth to mention that in fact IEEE WMTE workshop series starts in Vaxjo, Sweden during August 29–30, 2002 and it was also sponsored by IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Learning Technology (IEEE TCLT). The biennial workshop series (except in 2005) later was changed to conference series in 2010 (see information on IEEE Xplore) and then was merged into ICALT as Track WMUTE (i.e., it is usually Track 3) in 2014.
